Chris Stewart, General Manager

Chris Stewart has been with Victoria Country Club since June 2005.  Chris formerly worked for ClubCorp as the Club manager at two different private Clubs in the Houston area.  Chris moved to Texas in 2000 after receiving  his Master’s of Business Administration and his undergraduate degree from universities in the North East.  In Victoria, Chris serves on the Board of Directors at the Dorothy O’Connor Pet Adoption Center.

Christy Pall, Office Manager

Christy Pall is a native Victorian. Upon graduation from Southwest Texas State University in 1993 with a BBA in Accounting, she sharpened her financial skills in Austin before returning to the Crossroads. Christy has been the Office Manager since December 2006.

Jarrod Turley, Membership Director

Jarrod Turley comes to us from Horseshoe Bay Resort in Marble Falls, Texas. Jarrod was the Membership Sales Manager for the Club. He lived in Austin after Graduating from Texas State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies. He and his wife and young sons are excited to be in Victoria where Jarrod was raised in the nearby town of Goliad.

Beverly Evans, Food & Beverage Director

Beverly has been a part of the Victoria Country Club team since September 2002.  She is a member of the National Association of Catering Executives.   Beverly moved from Maine where she was the general manager of Governor’s Restaurant and Bakery for 15 years.  Her specialties at the Country Club include wedding and special event planning along with private parties. Beverly resides in Goliad, Texas and in her free time enjoys traveling to visit family.

Debbie Garcia, Banquet Manager 

Debbie Garcia has been employed with the Club since 1982, and is a Victoria native. Debbie's extensive knowledge of the food and beverage industry and her dedication to our Members and guests has made her a great addition to the management team.

Matthew Reid, Executive Chef

Originally a native of Louisiana, Matthew Reid has spent most of his culinary career in Houston, Texas. Matthew has been professionally cooking for about 12 years covering the many facets of food service operations in restaurants, private clubs, & five star hotels. He attended the Art Institute of Houston for his culinary training which was classical French cuisine; however he is knowledgeable in Indian, Thai, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Cajun/Creole, and Native American cuisines. He has a passion for fresh & seasonal ingredients and feels a menu should reflect this even with the fast paced, year round available market items. He is avid horticulturalist and enjoys gardening as well as bonsai. He is the father of a daughter, Laurel; which he says is his great accomplishment & inspiration to date.

Mike Collins, Director of Tennis

Mike Collins has been Director of Tennis at the Victoria Country Club for over 25 years. He has been a Member of USPTA since 1979. Mike has been influential in starting the Victoria CC Tennis Association, Ladies and Men's Leagues, and different tournaments thorughout the year. MIke is also available for private or group lessons.

Samantha Noles, Assistant Tennis Professional

Samantha Noles has been an avid tennis player for the past 15 years. While in high school Samantha was ranked Number one in state for two consecutive years. She has also been instrumental in creating different programs for kids at the Club. She has been an assistant pro since January 2007.

Breene Cantwell, Golf Professional

Breene Cantwell turned professional in 1984.  Since then he has been affiliated with Golf Crest Country Club, BraeBurn Country Club.  He has been a Head Golf Professional for the past 16 year’s.  He has played several professional tours including outside the United States.  Some of his professional highlights are winning the Camco Invitational in Belfast Ireland and finishing ninth in the Panama Open. Currently teaches players of all levels and has taught P.G.A. Tour Players Eric Bogar, Jamie Gomez, Richard Swift, Ted Tryba, Anders Hansen and John Paul Cain.

Joe Mitchell, Assistant Golf Professional

Joe Mitchell played two year’s of College golf at the University of Texas at Pan-American in Edinburg, TX. He received his Associates degree of Arts & Science from Victoria College in 1998. Turned Professional in 1999 and began to work as an Assistant Golf Professional at Victoria Country Club. Played two year’s on the Adam’s Tour. His best finish was an eighth place in Jackson, MS. He played in the group with the eventual winner and current PGA Tour player, Ryan Palmer. Joe has had 4 top ten finishes in South Texas PGA individual events. He qualified for the National Assistants Golf Professional Championship in Port St. Lucie, Fl. in 2008 with a second place finish in the qualifier in San Antonio, TX.

Andy Andress, Golf Course Superintendent

Andy Andress has been our course superintendent since 1990. Andy received his Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University in 1977.  After graduating from College Andy began working at the Columbus Golf Club. Andy has done a tremendous job with improving our course and grounds over the past 18 years. His philosphy has been to keep the greens fast and firm.
