Use of Courts
The use of the Tennis Courts at Victoria
Country Club is restricted to members of Victoria Country Club and their guests
and use by the Club Professional(s) for giving lessons. The Tennis Director and
Head Tennis Professional are responsible for managing the Club’s
tennis/pickleball program and facilities, and has the authority to enforce Club
rules.
Player Registration and Reservation of Courts
- All Members shall enter the tennis facility
through the Tennis Pro Shop, shall register in the Tennis Pro Shop to receive
court assignments, and shall pay for any guests attending before commencing
play.
- Only members of Victoria Country Club may
reserve courts, and only one court can be reserved for a family at one
time.
- Court reservations may be made no earlier than
seven (7) days in advance.
- A reservation shall not exceed a two (2) hour
time limit, and when the adult or family of the adult finish playing at the end
of the two hour time limit, the adult or family of the adult cannot continue to
play under the continuous reservation unless the Professional designates
another court that does not have a reservation.
-
For singles play, no member shall have more
than one (1) guest, or for doubles play no more than three (3) guests at any
one time, except by permission of the Tennis Director.
- If it becomes necessary to cancel a
reservation, this must be done at the earliest possible time. Cancellation of a
reservation for any reason other than weather is the responsibility of the
Member making the reservation. Reservations will be held open ten (10) minutes
after their scheduled beginning, after which the court will be made available
to any Member waiting to play.
- Junior players, under the age of 17, are not
allowed to make court reservations.
Guests
A “Guest” shall be any non-member player, who
must be in the company of a Member while on a court, except by special approval
of the Tennis Director, or as otherwise provided in these rules. Guests may
play two (2) times per month in the company of a Member of the Club.
Invitational or open tournaments do not count towards this restriction. Guest
fees as specified in these rules shall be charged to the host Member or be paid
by the guest or billed through a guest’s home Club.
Fees
- Members of Victoria Country Club, persons
taking tennis lessons from the Tennis Professional, and players in tournaments
and exhibition matches conducted by the Club shall not be required to pay guest
fees. However, play following lessons may be subject to the normal guest fees.
The guest fee is $20/guest.
-
Additional fees may be levied for the use of
the tennis facility where special arrangements are required.
-
Fees shall be posted in the Tennis Shop at
all times.
Wearing Apparel and Conduct on Courts
- All players shall wear smooth-soled, made-for-tennis
shoes.
-
All players shall be adequately dressed in
tasteful tennis attire. T-shirts must have sleeves and be full length. Jogging
shorts, swimsuits or cut-offs are not allowed.
-
Customary standards of tennis etiquette and
behavior will be observed by all Members and guests.
-
Entrance to respective courts shall be made
through the gate nearest the court to be used.
-
If it is necessary to cross the back of a
court that is in use in order to reach another court, the crossing should be
delayed until play has stopped temporarily on the court being used.
After Hours & Night Play
- Reservations for court usage outside of
Tennis Pro Shop hours are strongly recommended.
-
Play shall not continue after 10:00pm and
lights will be switched off at that time.
-
Players must close gates when leaving.
General Rules
- All children signing charge tickets shall
sign the name of the Member authorizing the use of the tennis courts and their
name.
-
The Tennis Director may reserve courts for
tournaments, exhibition match play, tennis programs, and in other cases where,
in its judgment, circumstances justify such reservations.
-
Only tennis and pickleball players are
allowed on the courts. Spectators, including children, must remain outside the
fence or in the spectator area.
-
No tobacco, food, gum, glass containers, etc.
are allowed within the fenced court areas. Players will properly dispose of all
refuse before leaving the court areas.
-
No outside food or beverages may be brought
into the tennis areas by Members or guests for their personal consumption,
unless otherwise approved by the Tennis Director or their designee.
Enforcement
Enforcement of the Policies and Rules shall
be by Management on behalf of the Board of Directors. Tennis Shop hours shall be
posted in the Tennis Shop.
